A place for budding young writers to bloom
This site is a platform for young writers. We hope that we'll have lots of young writers using this site to share their thoughts, feelings, challenges, and ideas.
Writers need a comfortable place to share their work without fear of judgement, where they can receive constructive and positive critiques. This is even more important for young writers who are just starting out on their adventure.
Ideas bloom where there is freedom of thought and expression.
Dreams are always "real" to the dreamer. We encourage young writers to follow their hearts and live their dreams. I wanted to be a writer from third grade but the challenges of life kept me from my dream for decades. My first book was finally published when I was 50 years old. Don't wait, you sweet budding writers.
Good writers are also good readers! They hone their skills, expand their knowledge, and create notable content if they understand their topics.
Writers can also use encouragement from others who have "walked the walk."
Here are some of our favorite books we recommend for budding authors.
Natalie Goldberg's book is a must read for writers. If you don't read anything else, please read this one!
This book by Gary Leboff is about achieving your dream, regardless of what it is.
Anne Lamott's book is simple wisdom for writers.
Not meaning to brag, but we often get recommendations for our "Resources" page, which we are always happy to add.
A few days ago, we got a request from a Mom in Alabama who asked us to put up a link suggested by her daughter, who is a budding writer.
A light went off!! We loved her letter so much we are posting it here (with her permission, of course) and creating this platform for budding writers. So, many thanks to an Alabama Mom!!

Happy Friday!
As a Mom, I wanted to thank Cherokee Rose Publishing for putting together your collection of writing resources.
For the summer, my daughter Hannah has been enrolled in an "Introduction to Writing" course being offered at our local community college down here in Alabama. It's geared at kids in 9th-12th grade. Hannah absolutely loves writing, so I was so excited to be able to sign her up. (And after the past year of virtual schooling due to COVID, she was so happy to be in a classroom setting again!)
The instructor asked the class to do some research on self publishing. She's compiling a list of resources for writers and will be sharing them with the class. Your page led us to some great websites to check out, so Hannah and I wanted to make sure we thanked you :)
And if it's not too much trouble, I was hoping you could include a contribution from Hannah on your page?
She found this guide for authors and writers that I just loved. It covers everything from skill development for writers, scholarships for writers, manuscript formatting help, how to find an agent, how to write a book proposal and so much more. I thought it was perfect to share!
This is it... https://couponfollow.com/research/money-saving-guide-authors-writers/
I would appreciate it SO much if you could include a link to it on your page: https://cherokeerosepublishing.com/resources
Hannah would be thrilled to see she was able to pay it forward and help other aspiring writers out there! (And I know she would love to show her instructor!)
Her class meets Monday afternoon if you get a chance to include it by then! I know the summer can be hectic though, so if not, whenever you get a chance to is great! Thank you again :)
Enjoy your weekend,
Alabama Mom
Budding writers can send us their blogs (and pictures, too) and we'll post them on our blog site. See the Agreement below and let's get started!
